Devoted to peace-making, interfaith dialogue, and creativity in efforts toward enhancing environmental spirituality and the integrity of the earth, the INTERFAITH PEACE GARDEN of the Sisters of Social Service is both a physical place and a place of the heart.
As a physical place, it is a little piece of land located within the larger acreage that is home to Holy Spirit Retreat Center and the Sisters of Social Service of Los Angeles. As a little piece of land, it is the symbolic and visual center of the vision of the Interfaith Peace Garden.
As a place of the heart, it focuses on programs on the property and elsewhere that engage peace-making and active non-violence; interfaith dialogue in its ecumenical, interreligious, and common ground dimensions; and the interconnectedness and well-being of all life on earth.
A ministry of the Sisters of Social Service, the Interfaith Peace Garden reflects the social mission of the church, benedictine spirituality and devotion to the Holy Spirit which are the treasured heritage of the community.
